Diamond stitch and symbolism
This edition of the ACE armchair, named ACE RACE, is inspired by the racing car seats that were prevalent from the late 1960s to the mid-1980s. The well-known "diamond stitch" is used with the aim of minimizing wrinkles in the fabric or leather when sitting; that is, the stitch serves to always maintain the seat's basic shape.
Racing seats as inspiration
Three distinct types of natural leather visually distinguish the ACE RACE armchair. The seat borders are made of perforated (ventilated) natural leather, characteristic of sports car seats. The welts surrounding the diamond stitching are made of white lacquered leather used in the yacht industry. The remainder of the ACE RACE armchair's seat is crafted from natural calf leather.
Comfort for the long haul
Increased comfort has also been achieved by incorporating 3 different types of foam, aiming to achieve a seating sensation as close as possible to that of sports seats in commercial racing cars. The ACE RACE is only produced in an all-black variant of ash wood (midnight black color) and black leather (Bond black).
